What was the highlight of Muthu Dalmally Hotel
Passable if you don't want much but very limited offering.
Receptionist was friendly and helpful, she also doubled as the bar maid. Bed was comfortable and place was altogether reasonably clean. Shower was fine once left to run long enough and mixer set to correct temperature. We were only staying one night after a long days hillwalking so to be honest we are mainly looking for a place to lay our heads and this provided that and was passable.
We were only staying one night and had advised the hotel we were likely to be arriving late. Asked about the restaurant and was told it was open 7 - 9. Asked for sample menu but this wasn't provided. It turns out they have a very literal view about restaurant closing time. Although we were in by about 8:40 we were hounded to order as they closed at 9 (not last orders at 9). Very limited menu and no time for starters or dessert, so squeezed in a main course as staff rushed out the door. Bar was very poorly stocked. One choice of bottled beer or one choice of bottled cider @ £3.60 a bottle. Soft drinks limited to a small choice of cans. Spirits limited to one malt whisky. That was literally it. It felt like we had arrived at the end of a closing down sale. Rooms were adequate. We had 3 singles. All were supposed to have a bath and shower. One was minus the bath- not a big issue for us but worth checking. Hot water was very hot when it arrived but took a while resulting in the shower mixer having to be adjusted a couple of times during the showering process. Creaky floorboards and thin walls meant some noise. Hot evening so window open as no air conditioning but close to road so a bit of noise from passing traffic. Breakfast was £10 per head. Full English included but very limited other offerings. A couple of cereals, muffins, toast and one choice of fruit juice (apple). One of our party only had tea and toast but still was charged full rate of £10 which seems a bit unfair. Nothing was terrible, all quite passable but in school report terms "could try harder" or "could be better" Obviously a big hotel used to bus parties and working on a tight budget until they return, rather than putting any real effort into encouraging the guests they have to return.

Naast het Engels ontbijt (goed!) waren er nog ontbijtgranen en fruit beschikbaar. de bediening en restaurant waren overigens uitstekend en zeker aan te bevelen. rustige locatie en ruime parkeergelegenheid.
het karige continentaal ontbijt viel tegen (enkel ontbijtgranen): een schijfje kaas en/of hesp was zeker gewenst voor een hotel van dit kaliber.
